Why US is unhappy with African unification

Gaddafi legacy and growing Chinese Africa influence worry US

The US is watching African unification very closely with profound concern:
  • That African rulers pushing to unify the continent are Gaddafi allies left behind to finish the job of establishing a federal nation of Africa (the Obama administration now realizes assassinating Gaddafi did nothing but add fuel to the so-called Gaddafi project for a United States of Africa), and
  • That a number of African governments are increasingly becoming Chinese-leaning (late last year, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton said in Zambia that a new colonialism (and slavery) had descended on Africa from China).
Somebody I know who personally knows some people in the State Department told me they categorically stated in a phone conversation with them that those spearheading African unity are "crazy people" who are not acceptable to the US.

At the end of the day, I would not be surprised to see the US and company bankroll civil society organizations to campaign against the draft federal constitution for Africa when it is unveiled.

Come 2017 (preferably 2015), I will be in China, India, Russia, Brazil, Argentina and the ilk selling my tea, coffee, bananas, diamonds, gold, uranium, copper and oil.
