Today marks the 101st International Women's Day but how much progress has there been for women in politics? How do countries compare for representation in parliament?
The world average for women in parliament stood at 19.5% in 2011, a 0.5 percentage point increase from the previous year. The european average (including Nordic countries) was 22.3% although Nordic countries led the way internationally with an average of 42% with Sweden and Finland in the top ten of the rankings.http://www.guardian.co.uk/
