History of health care systems in Africa
History of Health care in Sub-Saharan Africa, and African communities worldwide has always been debated or pursued in historical context. Even with the growth of traditional healing practitioners in most African communities, the quality of health in African communities continue to be the concern of researchers, development agencies, health administrators and planners both inside and outside the continent. We believe that it is only through a value-based information exchange system that we can achieve an effective, functioning and self-sustained health care delivery service, reliable supply chains for medicines and equipment and an overall improved quality of lives and the society.
African Health Dialogues debut episode seeks to explore the evolution and statuses of Healthcare Systems in Africa and as well as in African communities-- with respect to the past, the present and hopes for the future. We hope to spur a renewed awareness of sustainable health initiatives, and the need for networks of physicians' and pharmacists' interests in exchanging information and improving the overall health services in communities that need it.
