This story is troubling. Ms Muhanga is a sister to Mr Andrew Mwenda. The Monitor person should tell their reader the truth. What will Mr Mwenda have to say about her thieving sister?
Her explanation illustrates the influence peddling. How did people who did not have money get a prime land? Folks, the only thing Minister Okurut and Ms Muhanga had going for them was that they were NRM/state house insiders. In short, they were selling their influence and acess to YKM/state house.
Minister Okurut Karoro should resign as Minister of Information. Was she appointed to cover up for the UBC scandal? Then why it is that the government has arrested UBC directors? The people to be arrested should be Hon Okurut Karoro and ms Margaet Muhanga. These are the thieves.
Could the UBC directors resist the pressure from well connected State house insiders such as sMinister Okurut Karoro and Ms Margaret Muhanga? Your guess is as good as mine. They were under the gun to approve the deal. Now they are arrested!
The media shuold find out the folowing: how much taxes did the free riders pay to the treasury? It is a huge chunk of capital gains. Basically they paid nothing and pocketed bilions or is it millions. Only in Uganda do you find such free lunch.
The other story that needs to be clarified is the name of Mr Wanyoto, a lawyer involved. Is he a brother to Hon Lydia Wanyoto, wife of Dr Mutende, the new state minister for industrialization? What the hell is going on in Uganda?
